CHAPTER LEADERSHIP

PRESIDENT
President of the Detroit Chapter, Member of Excellence and Michigan Double Star Performer. Under her leadership, the Detroit Chapter, on the brink of disbandment, became a Chapter of Excellence for the 1st time since the program began with plans to become the largest Chapter of Excellence in the Michigan Division.  Membership for 2011-2012 was increased by 30%.
Branding of the chapter was achieved with community outreach initiatives such as a PCK Drive (similar to shoebox ministries) in which personal care items were collected and distributed to a local shelter for the homeless and participation in the Adopt A Child Christmas program instead of a Chapter Christmas Party being held.
Communicating that brand, The Detroit Office - Official Newsletter of the Detroit Chapter was established, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter pages were created as well as the chapter’s website being launched this past February.
Finally, financial stability was achieved by hosting and securing sponsors for a successful 60th Annual Administrative Professionals Day Networking Breakfast & Expo at the Emagine Theatre in Royal Oak, MI with 100+ in attendance.   Elections were held in May and Ms. Edwards was elected to a second term of office. Newly elected officers were installed at the Detroit Chapter's Annual Meeting (DCAM) on June 14, 2012 at the DTE Energy Main Office Complex by Congressman Hansen Clarke of Michigan's 13th Congressional District.
